… what are some weird, whacky or just plain different things you’ve heard taught about Satan as you’ve been a member of this tribe called Christian? What do you think of those ideas? How have they shaped your perspective (or not) about Jesus and this tribe? This month is wide open for being fun or being serious … because this subject could run in many different directions depending on the tradition you come from. So as you write and as you read, please remember to have grace in abundance for the journey that each has been on.

I wrote about this very subject last November (“The Devil,” 10/1/2011) although more of my focus was on what the scriptures say the devil is, rather than isn’t. But I’ll put together something new on some of the odder teachings I’ve heard. We Pentecostals have all sorts of wacky ones.
Good post! I look forward to your contribution.
My post will go up on 9/13. Here is the link:

Here you go. Not wacky, unfortunately – the way people treat Satan hits a bit too close to home for that – but I do hope it is interesting and thought-provoking.

Meant to say: I’m flying to England tomorrow so I will not be around much when the rest of the links are posted. But I will add individual links when I get a chance. In the meantime I added a link to this post and directed people to the comment section.

I have been very busy at work today (still catching up from being out of town) but I will get all the links posted on this blog this evening after I get dinner for my family. In the meantime feel free to go ahead and read the others by following the links that have been left in the comment section here.
FINALLY. I was worried that I was suffering from a bit of “diarrhea of the blog,” to coin a phrase, but I didn’t care to break it up into several posts. So I used subheads. Skip whichever ones bore you.
